Delilah then said to Samson, “Until now, you have been making a fool of me and lying to me. Tell me how you can be tied.” He replied, “If you weave the seven braids of my head into the fabric [on the loom] and tighten it with the pin, I’ll become as weak as any other man.” So while he was sleeping, Delilah took the seven braids of his head, wove them into the fabric.

The story of DELILAH is a story of passion and hatred. The tapestry uses restrained colors and a minimalistic approach that are intended to support the drama.
The Biblical scene is played by two intense characters, Delilah and Samson. In the tapestry, the form of Delilah is portrayed as containing and dominating Samson. From their heads his seven braids are released and Delilah takes advantage by weaving them into the web of her loom. Delilah seduces Samson and then betrays him.
Then, as today, the drama of Samson and Delilah exposes strength and weakness between man and woman and redefines our most basic understanding of the definition of power.
