The Tabernacle

                                     Design for tapestry

During the forty years of trials in the desert, the Israelites related to the tabernacle as the core physical element of their faith. I was inspired by the description of the sanctuary in the shape of a tent that the Israelites were instructed to build. This tapestry relates to all of the precious materials–linen, silver, gold, wood, and brass.

The tight structure of this work references the natural shapes, surrounded by an intriguing and sweet desert, where the ground colors swirl.
