Scarlet and Snow, Crimson and Wool

Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool

Isaiah 1:18

Series: WEAVING AND THE BIBLE

Title: Scarlet and Snow, Crimson and Wool

Size:  1.54m x 1.26m (61in x 50in)

Design for a tapestry

Color plays the main role in my interpretation of Isaiah’s verse. The Bible uses red as a symbol for sin, and white as the emblem of innocence.

The two characters in dark crimson and scarlet represent the stain of blood, the guilt of the past that should be discharged and restored to a state of purity, white as snow and wool.
